We can say with Psalm Chapter 37 and verse 23, "The steps
of a good man are ordered by the Lord."
We
are really blessed to have a pastor who preaches the whole truth.
God
gave Apostle Ragland special qualities to serve, to be gentle,
kind, meek, intelligent, and wise enough to listen. The hour
is never too early or too late when called upon that he won't
be there to help in any way he can.
He
is the son of the late Deacon John W. Ragland and late Mother
Earline Lewis Ragland Maupin. He was born on July 5, 1925. He
served in the U.S. Navy and also did overseas duty.
He
always had a great love for the church, even when he didn't
have a God on his side. But when time was fully come, he made
Jesus his choice. He waited on the Lord until he was sanctified
and given the gift of the Holy Ghost, speaking with other tongues
as the spirit gave utterance according to Acts 2:4.
He
has been pastoring at the Holy Church of the Living God for
43 years, in Gordonsville, Virginia, better known as Cobham.
He
is married to the former Miss Ruth E. Winston of Richmond, Virginia,
now residing in Gordonsville, Virginia. They have six sons,
seven daughters and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
